What is Cancer Insurance?
Cancer Insurance is a supplemental insurance policy that
pays money to the policyholder to help cover expenses associated with fighting
the disease. These types of policies are not meant to cover the whole cost of
fighting cancer. They are designed
to help give you the extra money needed to help make up for lost income or the
high cost of fighting the disease.
I already have a Full
Coverage Major Medical plan. Why do I need more insurance?
If you all ready have a major medical plan you still have a
lot of out of pocket expenses that we don’t tend to think about until these
cost accrue. Some cost include the high price of drugs, gas, lodging, meals,
parking, and long distance phone calls to doctors, family and friends. Not to
mention any loss of income due to taking a time off to help a loved one fight
the disease.
Is Cancer insurance right for
me?
Not all people are at risk. According to the American
Cancer Society, Men have a 1 in 2 chance and women have a 1 in 3 chance of
developing cancer.
Your Chance of getting cancer increases with age. 77% of
all cancers occur in individuals’ age 55 and older.
Cancer is also the second leading cause of death in children, behind accidents.
